Electoral Consensus Strengthens the Path of Paralympic Badminton and Renews Confidence in Its Leadership

In an organized atmosphere marked by high transparency and a spirit of responsibility, the Hall of Achievers at the headquarters of the Iraqi National Paralympic Committee hosted the elections of the Paralympic Badminton Federation. The elections concluded with renewed confidence in Mr. Obaid Al-Fartousi as president of the federation after he won by full consensus, receiving 18 votes. This reflected the great confidence of the general assembly in his leadership for the upcoming phase.

The elections also resulted in Mr. Iyad Qasim winning the position of Vice President with 18 votes. Mr. Mohammed Talib secured the position of Secretary-General by consensus with 18 votes, while Mr. Akram Falih won the position of Financial Secretary with the same number of votes. These results confirm the harmony and consensus among members of the general assembly and their commitment to supporting administrative and technical stability within the federation.

The electoral process was supervised by the Second Vice President of the Iraqi National Paralympic Committee, Mr. Mujli Al-Jabri. The election committee was chaired by Mr. Bariq Lazim and included Mr. Saif Ali as Vice Chair, Dr. Nashat Aziz as an expert, and Mr. Ahmed Sharrad representing the Ministry of Youth and Sports. All voting procedures and the announcement of results were conducted smoothly and in accordance with approved legal procedures.

The elections witnessed wide official and sporting attendance, led by the Secretary-General of the Iraqi National Paralympic Committee, Mr. Mahdi Baqir, and Dr. Kawthar Hussein, a member of the executive office, in addition to a number of presidents of Paralympic federations, executive board members, department directors, section heads, the executive director, and staff members. This gave the administrative event significant importance in shaping the future of the sport.

This consensus represents a clear message of confidence in the ability of the new administrative body to continue institutional work and develop Paralympic badminton in line with the ambitions of the Iraqi National Paralympic Committee to achieve accomplishments and prepare champions capable of representing Iraq honorably in upcoming competitions.
